Deep Heads are proud to present ‘Ideas of Light’ EP from Sun Rain & Spookyfish.

Sun Rain is the solo alias of Toronto-based multi-instrumentalist, DJ, and electronic producer Chad Skinner. In 2019, he conceptually launched the Sun Rain project, fusing his versatile compositional talents to explore his own expansive sonic ideas.

Spookyfish is the project of multi-instrumentalist Dani Ramez. With roots in ambient and downtempo, her productions showcase skills in audio manipulation and musicality, blending obscure electronic sounds with the familiarity of acoustic instruments.

Sophia Alexandra, who features on the recording of ‘Candle, is also Toronto based and is a Vocalist & DJ. With her love for storytelling and ear for thoughtful and unique melodies, she has found herself in collaboration with a variety of Toronto-based producers, this time with Sun Rain & Spookyfish.

The EP begins with Sophia’s featuring track ‘Candle’
Gently, the synthesisers begin to pulsate some deep and immersive tones, while electric guitars flutter in the background. As the track progresses, the vocals from Sophia, blend in and layer the energy that has built. Towards 3 minutes of the track, the music changes and morphs into what feels like a new beginning. The synths fade away and we hear Chad on the upright Piano which continues until the end. The compositions are simply magical in this piece of music and a true display of what these artists are all about.

Then for ‘Ideas of light’ we hear a continuation of energy within this EP.
Swerling synth compositions and Live recorded upright Piano create mystical energy that takes you somewhere far away from this planet.
A fantastic display of analogue, live recorded music that is produced to the highest of standards.

On the 3rd and final track on the EP, is a remix of ‘Ideas of Light’ from Marenn Sukie. He has released previously on the Deep Heads label and gives the piece a new twist that adds bass and beats from the original and incorporates some of the main hooks.
